How do I pick colours to ice dye?
We recommend choosing dyes with darker pigments. Light, pastel colours do not dye well as they don’t have enough colour pigment to soak through the fabric as the ice melts. Try to stick to a maximum of 4 colours as it can become a bit overwhelming. Dyes melt together, so aim to choose colours that would blend well. When ice dyeing, you will always see all the pigments that make up your chosen colour. For example, grey shows browns and blacks, ocean blue shows purples and blues. This is a normal part of the ice dyeing process.
Why doesn't mine look like the picture?
Each product is lovingly dyed by hand and although we endeavour to produce consistent results, naturally there will be unique variations in each piece. We can't guarantee that an item will turn out exactly how you may have envisioned it, however that is all part of the fun!
How should I care for my tie dyed product?
In order to best preserve your item, we suggest the following care instructions:
- Do not bleach your items
- Cold machine wash with similar colours
- Do not iron bamboo wraps
- Warm iron all other items
- Line dry in shade without delay
How long will my order take?
